Teapot Wednesday

It was the Wednesday before Easter, properly called Teapot Wednesday, and all the followers were out searching for bargain teapots. It was essential to get them before the Easter weekend when everyone would be back at church expecting a nice cup of tea.

Things were not going to plan in the High Street.

‘How much?’

‘You must be joking!’

‘For a teapot, rediculous.’

It seems that teapots had shot up in price since last year. It was a shock for all the would-be teapot buyers. They had to have the latest teapots. People would expect it.

After all, tea was central to their Easter celebrations. Last year a trendy, political sort of minister had told them there was no tea at the Last Supper. What nonsense. Mrs Potts had a teapot with a painting on it of Jesus at the Last Supper holding a teapot. They soon sent her packing.

This year it was back to the old traditions. Happy Teapot Wednesday everyone.
