After last evening’s Communion Service with LCSB on line, here are the prayers I used for those who want to see them again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcome<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a piece of wood, cut from a tree, much like a carpenter would use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a cross, cut from a tree, where a carpenter would die.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a candle, a light to keep faith alive: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

faith in the world turner, the cross wise one, who speaks to us through the wood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Communion in the kitchen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Prayer of delight<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

God\nof all we rejoice at your delight!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At\nyour delight in the world you created,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

at\nyour delight in Jesus, your Son, baptised and ready to go,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

at\nyour delight in us, affirmed and ready to follow him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Invitation to communion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birthed\nin a manger, a wooden box where cattle feed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brought\nup in a workshop, a place of wood where he learnt a trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brought\nout of the River Jordan, baptised by water and the Spirit,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus, the cross wise one, invites you all to his table.(<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer after communion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Companion Christ, True Vine, we have eaten heavenly bread, we have drunk the wine of promise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\ncommit ourselves to a life of kinship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustain us on the road that in partnership with the poor<\/p>\n\n\n\n

we may travel on to eat and drink in justice and peace in the vineyard of the Vinegrower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blessing of the trees in the woodland<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hazel: male and female flowers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A\nblessing from the larch and the beech;
\nMay they shelter you in\ntheir season.
\nA blessing from the hawthorn and the willow:
\nMay\nthey delight you in their season.
\nA blessing from the hazel\nand the oak;
\nMay they supply you in their season.
\nMay you\never be sheltered, delighted and supplied in this holy place,
\nBy\nthe power of the Holy Three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great\nGod,\nwho made the darkness for rest,
\nSurround us this night
\nSo\nthat our words, our thoughts, our breath,
\nMay rest in you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
