If I\ncannot express my anger, what am I but a hollow dried out gourd, a\ndeflated tyre. I might put all the right words and sentiments\ntogether in the right order, I may share bright thoughts and new\ninsights, what I say may cause the earth to change, but if anger\nremains repressed, what\u2019s the point in that? I may donate\neverything I own, even my body parts, but what\u2019s the point if my\nanger, such a key part of me, remains un-noticed?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anger burns, slowly\nor quickly and engulfs everything; it blurts out, slaps down, flares\nup; it ferments, seethes, grows and as a result smothers a lot else;\nit feeds on injustice, real or presumed, it boils away leaving a\npainful crust, a life long scar. It\u2019s always there, however\nfaithful, hopeful or loving you try to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anger is powerful\nand our failure to acknowledge this or give it space strengthens its\npower. What may have been a positive force for change is demonised\nand negated and becomes a many headed monster. It doesn\u2019t matter\nwhat language you speak, if you do not give voice to anger then it\nwill erupt violently somehow. Ignore it and it may pass, but it will\nbe back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To some, anger seems\nchildish; part of a repertoire we should have left behind. As adults\nwe are told we don\u2019t need anger, but what if injustice continues?\nWe struggle to understand our current experiences: how will we become\nwhole unless we acknowledge the place of anger?
